I'm having a total knee replacement - so would I get the one for the thigh to accomodate swelling & dressings?

I am a retired nurse practioner. Check with your surgeon first. I had a total knee replacement in August 2019. A special ice machine device was used post-op in the hospital and sent home with me with instructions on how frequently to use it. It wraps around the knee and leg so easily accommodates the dressing. It does not provide compression. Your surgeon may want you to wait until the surgical site has healed before adding compression. If that is the case then you could measure after you no longer need the dressing and order that size. You will get longer use out of it then. Good luck with your surgery.

Good advice. My surgeon (Kaiser) supplied me with an Ice Man cold therapy machine. It was a lifesaver. Was considered part of the surgery, no extra charge for it.

Would this work for ankle sprains?
